#18 · Open Gregorian time fields in a date and time dialog

  • timeline-app
  • pull request

With the Gregorian time display, every time field now opens its own date and time dialog: the moment's **Exact time** and both **view bounds**. - **Opening it:** click or tap the field, or press Alt+Down in it (the usual key for opening a field's picker). Ordinary typing in the original field still works, and other time displays keep plain text fields. - **Picker:** the dialog holds the existing contextual calendar and clock fields, so an hour-wide view shows minutes and seconds first, and **Expand calendar context** reveals the date and year. A note explains that fields hidden at the current zoom keep their values. - **Typed entry:** **Or type a time** sits underneath the picker and accepts anything the timeline's parser understands. Picker changes update it as you go. - **Apply:** sets the moment's time, or moves that bound and navigates straight away. A left bound that isn't earlier than the right bound is reported inside the dialog rather than applied. - **Cancel / Escape / ×:** changes nothing. - **Exactness:** applying a display that wasn't edited keeps the exact rational coordinate, including nonterminating fractions of a second, as the inline picker did. - The inline picker in the moment editor is removed, since the dialog replaces it. **Tests:** the issue-regression browser test (served and offline builds) now covers the moment dialog's contextual fields, day picking with exact fractional seconds, Cancel, typed entry, applying the left bound, and the inverted-range error. Locally, the unit tests and the Chromium served and offline suites pass. Firefox and WebKit run in CI.
